i would suggest retiring it. fake jewerly tends to turn your skin bluish green. or in your case maybe even orange. it may even cause a rash, or a break out. it’s happened to me before with cheap silver jewerly. but if you want to attempt to salvage it there is some suff called tarnex. but idk how good it is, it may just erode your necklac more.

for one its not real silver. to clean it you need to sand it off alittle, maybe use a nail file. use some model car paint in the same color silver or nail polish if possible with a very fine brush, as the necklace may stick together. after the paint dries use a clear coat to add shine for the new look. good luck with this as it is very hard to do. you might use a magnifying glass to help you along.

Rust will eat off any finish. No it isn’t real silver and it probably can’t b fixed unless you want to spend more money and have a jeweler dip it in real silver and then it might happen again.
The best thing to clean jewelry and silver of any kind is vinegar.
Toothpaste is good on jewelry too.
I have used these many times and the vinegar on my silver serving and punch bowl sets.

toothepaste! i swear it works. come on, what have you got to lose?!

toothepaste is effective and inexpensive, and everyone has it in their household (or at least i hope everyone has it..)

i also had this exact question one time on an expensive sterling silver charm bracelet. it was starting to tarnish because i haven’t worn it in so long, but i wanted to fix it. i found out i could use tootepatse, and i was like.. what the heck?! i didn’t think it would work. i thought it would ruin my bracelet, but my bracelet was already ruined so i didn’t care. so i tried it, and it worked! my bracelet looks brand new, and i’m wearing it right now :)
i don’t know how it’d work on your necklace though, seeing that it was only $7 from claires. it doesn’t hurt to try though.
