I use a jewelry cleaning cloth, they work very well on silver. You can find them at jewelry stores or walmart, kmart, etc.

I put two cups of boiling water, a piece of tin foil and 1 tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl and then add my jewelry.

You can clean silver by using a baking soda paste. Just mix some water with baking soda and rub it over the silver. You can use a toothbrush for getting into tiny areas, and rub. I’ve also heard that some tooth pastes are good to clean silver. In both cases, let whatever you use sit on the silver for awhile before you rub it off.

I’m not sure how you can tell, but if it is silver, you can take a toothbrush that you don’t use, put toothpaste on it, and brush your jewelry. No joke, it works! Or, you can go to a place that sells silver, and they usually polish it for free if you ask.
